FIELDS OF CHANGE

Fields of Change PAC’s nearly $300k Investment in Mail, Digital, and TV Was the Largest Independent Expenditure effort Supporting Ortiz Jones

Fields of Change PAC congratulates Gina Ortiz Jones on her hard-earned victory in Saturday’s mayoral election and is honored to be a part of bringing new leadership to San Antonio.

“Gina Ortiz Jones is a leader who served our country in uniform and never stopped serving,” said Marcus Flowers, Founder and President of Fields of Change PAC. “As a fellow veteran, I know the kind of courage, commitment, and integrity it takes to step up and lead, and that’s exactly what Gina has done. Her victory is a win for San Antonio, and a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we support leaders who put country and community first.”

Fields of Change was proud to be the first organization to invest in Gina’s campaign — including during the primary, when we wanted to ensure voters had a strong, credible Democratic leader ready to take on Greg Abbott’s hand-picked candidate in the runoff. In total, Fields of Change made the largest independent expenditure in support of Gina, helping power her campaign through a tough and expensive race.

Facing over two million dollars in right-wing spending, Fields of Change helped level the playing field with a comprehensive, multi-platform campaign that included broadcast and connected TV ads, direct mail, digital outreach, and a text program. In such a close race, that investment undoubtedly made the difference.

This campaign reflects the core mission of Fields of Change: to identify and support the next generation of service-minded Democratic leaders — especially in the South, where MAGA forces are working to turn back progress. Gina’s record as an Iraq War veteran, former Undersecretary of the Air Force, and lifelong public servant made her the clear choice to lead San Antonio forward.

Her victory is not just a win for the city, it’s a proof point for what’s possible when early, strategic investment is made in exceptional candidates ready to serve.

Fields of Change also thanks our partners on the ground who played important roles in this effort, including Texas Future Project, Annie’s List, ACT4SA Action PAC, AFSCME San Antonio Local 2021, UNITE HERE Local 23, Planned Parenthood Texas Votes, San Antonio Alliance, LIUNA Local 1095, and Texas Majority PAC. This victory was a team effort — and we’re proud to have stood alongside so many committed organizations fighting for progress in San Antonio.
