Fields of Change PAC is proud to endorse Robert Jones for Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) District 3. This year marks the first real opportunity in several years for Georgia voters to hold the PSC accountable—and we believe Jones is the candidate best prepared to fight for ratepayers, promote clean energy, and bring urgently needed reform to this powerful commission.
The Georgia PSC regulates what families pay for electricity and natural gas—and how that energy is generated and delivered. From approving multi-billion-dollar utility projects to deciding how much rooftop solar is allowed on the grid, the PSC’s decisions affect every household’s budget, health, and climate future.
“Georgia families deserve a Public Service Commission that works for them, not for monopoly utilities or political insiders,” said Marcus Flowers, Army veteran, former congressional candidate, and founder and president of Fields of Change PAC. “We believe Robert Jones brings the vision and backbone this office demands. That’s why Fields of Change is proud to endorse his candidacy and why we’re preparing to launch an independent campaign to support his election.”
This election follows years of delay caused by a voting rights lawsuit that challenged the PSC’s statewide at-large voting system. With Districts 2 and 3 finally on the ballot in 2025, Georgia voters have a unique chance to reshape the PSC and demand climate-forward, pro-consumer leadership.
The stakes are high. Under its current Republican majority, the PSC has:
- Approved the largest electric rate hike in Georgia history;
- Allowed billions in nuclear cost overruns from Plant Vogtle to be passed on to customers;
- Enabled a generation mix that is less than 10% renewable, with less than 0.5% rooftop solar despite Georgia’s abundant sunlight;
- Failed to expand access to solar, protect clean air and water, or hold Georgia Power accountable for record profits amid rising bills.
With low turnout expected and limited media noise in this off-year election, the Fields of Change campaign will focus on breaking through with digital communications that educate voters, clarify what’s at stake, and mobilize turnout—especially among young, climate-conscious Georgians.
